The skipper
A certified GT500 Master with sailing endorsement, CoC recognized under the STCW Convention governing maritime safety worldwide, Julien Mangogna has spent more than a decade navigating monohulls and multihulls ranging from 24 to 80 feet.
With over 75,000 nautical miles logged across some of the world's most remarkable waters, his voyages have taken him from the turquoise lagoons of the Pacific to the dramatic fjords of Norway, from the Caribbean archipelagos to the Atlantic shores of Europe, and as far north as the untamed wilderness of Svalbard.
Through ocean crossings, yacht deliveries, scientific expeditions, and bespoke sailing journeys, Julien has developed an extensive understanding of yachts, onboard systems, and life at sea. Yet beyond the technical expertise, it is the people, cultures, landscapes, and shared experiences encountered along the way that have shaped his vision of travel.
A passionate surfer for more than twenty-five years, an offshore sailor, and a lifelong explorer of wild places, he understands the unique freedom, wonder, and perspective that the ocean can offer. Equally, he recognizes the respect the sea demands and the importance of meticulous preparation in creating truly rewarding experiences.
Today, Julien brings this experience to those seeking expert guidance in yacht acquisition, advanced sailing instruction, professional yacht delivery, or tailor-made voyages beyond the well-traveled routes.
His philosophy is straightforward: to share knowledge earned through experience, to teach with clarity and patience, and to create meaningful journeys shaped around the aspirations of each individual client.
A citizen of the sea and a student of the world's maritime cultures, Julien has lived between California, the Caribbean, and France's Basque Coast. An astronomy enthusiast, painter, sculptor, and musician, he approaches every destination with curiosity, sensitivity, and an appreciation for both place and people.
The journeys he designs are never defined solely by an itinerary or a destination. They are crafted as rare moments of connection and discovery, where the sea becomes the thread linking exploration, learning, and wonder.
The ocean opens horizons. How far you choose to follow them is entirely up to you.
